LFW day three: Mary Katrantzou

Yay a bit of colour!

Mary  Katranyzou completed her BA and Ma at Central Saint Martins. Having previously worked for Sophia Kokosalaki she has become into her own as a designer with her colourful prints & unique shapes.

This year for SS11 shapes are even more simple with bold graphics and industrial jewellery still being the pinnacle of Katrantzou’s designs. 3D dresses above the knee and short sleeves were the main focus today. Colours were strong and funky including lime green, gold, sky blue and orange.  One of my favorite dresses was a structured lamp shape for the skirt and a detailed print design all over.

I am a fan of the digital prints Katrantzou does as you don’t see her style anywhere else and they stand out from the crowd. If you saw one of her garments in a busy room you would instantly know which designer it belonged to .
