LFW day five: Jonathan Saunders

The last day of womenswear designers and there was only one designer I really wanted to see. I have always been a big fan of Jonathan Saunders. His collections have always been about the print and his SS11 collection certainly didn’t disappoint!

Shapes were simple high waist skirts, sophisticated slip dresses, white shirts with striking blocks of colour, high waist shorts accessorized with a small belt, tailored blazers and classy black gowns.

Colours were inspired by Miami style buildings, palm trees and flowers to make a pallet of oranges, yellows, pale blues, greens and beiges. Print patterns were flowers cut out and put on a plain white background, thus making it quite striking.

Overall I loved the collection, it felt like a breath air to all the usual floral prints designers have been churning out. The prints were simple yet charming, the easy shapes looked classy and elegant. Top points for the handsome Scottish designer.
